Please don't laugh or gasp...but I've been visiting sites like this and this. You see, a few months ago I swore that I would plan ahead. Do you plan ahead?
I have good reasons...it has been over 100 here for days and what else should I do? The house is clean! The yard is too hot to grow.
Go ahead share your ideas with me about how you prepare for the holidays - way in advance. I love to be inspired. :)

Just 161 days!
I posted this Thursday night. Now it's Friday morning and I have to add to let you know that I never plan ahead! Don't be fooled. I'm just hoping to start a new trend.

Stacey, you are just too funny!! I do find myself however fantasizing about fall right now. You made me laugh tonight when I saw this picture.
Hugs,
LeAnn:)
I am horrible with planning ahead for that. We have only gotten a little sprinkle so far tonight. Come on RAIN!!!!!
I always say that I will start ahead of Christmas but it seldom happens. lol I really do need to start now.
Blessings,
Sandra
Hi Stacey,
I cleaned out my linen closet today and organized all my christmas tablecloths and napkins, I was thinking today of the new tablescapes I could make with my Christmas linen and dishes for the holidays....maybe the heat has gone to our brains? Miss Bloomers
I am SO NOT a plan ahead girl. Are you doing the Christmas in July party next week? (There's a button on my sidebar if you would like.) It might be just what you need to beat the heat. I RSVP'd, and now don't have a clue what to post!
I have to say I always have great intentions to get things done way before Christmas, but I never do!
I love Snoopy's dog house! I just wish it was that easy.
I think we have the routine down pat. We start Thanksgiving weekend and keep going. Then it takes six months to put it all away (lol)

Well, now at least I know someone who plans ahead.LOL
I love to start way ahead of the holiday. But, I start planning the decorating and should be planning the gifts I want to buy. That I put off till late-late.
I have already been thinking about Christmas presents...
Oh, I love this....I've had lots of time in an empty house waiting on furniture and I admit I've been imagining how I will decorate for Christmas.
Have a great weekend!
I have plenty of ideas but just have a hard time producing them. You have inspired me to at least start some of them....in the near future!LOL
Have a great weekend!
I've got good intentions but seem to still play 'beat the clock' as the holidays approach! haha
Enjoy your weekend - stay cool!

Stacey, I definitely plan ahead and will start my Fall decorating in late August. I do this because Fall and Christmas are so special and if you wait unitl the last minute...they just slip away. I want to sit back and enjoy them to the fullest....so I plan ahead. It works for me.

Laughing WITH you, sista! Not AT you! Truly! Lol! I like to THINK about planning ahead, but I really do need to get past the theoretical stage! At least now you've given me some resources to help me plan . . . Thanks!]
Have a fabulous weekend!

Plan ahead, Duh ! what does that mean ?? LOL .
Go ahead Miss Stacey and plan ahead!!! You can give us some good tips and advise...YAY!!! Sounds good to me! I am actually keeping this Christmas simple...very simple...that's my plan anyway.. ;) I say that every year..but never stick to that plan...lol :) I PLAN to stick to the PLAN this year! SIMPLE!! HA! ;) Nancy
One more thing, I am already thinking about Fall!!! I just was thinking this morning that I bet Hobby Lobby already has Fall out..I need to go there this weekend! I do love Summer the best..I love the daylight Hrs of this time of yr...but when it is so hot and hummid I look forward to Fall! NOT Winter tho... ;)
You're way ahead of me! I can't believe summer is almost over!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
I'm always shopping and doing stuff at the last minute during the holidays. Every year I swear I won't but still do. It makes me nuts. I think I need an intervention! LOL I think this year I'm going to start with just one small thing early and see if that gives me inspiration to do a better job. -Jackie
A few years ago I started writing stories for my grandchildren for Christmas. I write all year long. They are not Christmas related stories just stories about each child's character and/or something we did together. I take them to the print shop and have them bound. I feel like some of them are too old for this, but that is all they want from Papaw and Mamaw. My adult children will get art work and probably a $50.00 gift certificate, since hubby thinks the art is not enough.

You're so funny! I usually DO plan ahead for Christmas...buying as I go through the yr. When I sit for a cup of tea in my dining area sometimes I ponder where to put the tree etc. Crazy, I know. This yr will be so different. I pray I put the tree up in FL and not MI, but we shall see.
Funny thing...my kids asked for hot cocoa today. It was cloudy, windy and in the 60's brrr. Yes, in JULY ?! The wind was so cold, it felt like Autumn...really! It will be the same tomorrow. yuck.
It's never too early to start. Here's an example of something I work ALL YEAR LONG in preparing for Christmas.

Oh Stacey, how funny you are!
With all the heat you have been having lately, I can totally see sitting in the air conditioning looking at Christmas sites. You will way ahead of us all this season for sure! Amy :)
In July I do not think of Christmas. I am not a plan ahead type personality, although I am surrounded by those that are. I had to smile when I read this post. I would not find myself crunched for time if I would learn to plan ahead for big events. I work best under pressure. Crazy...but true!
Stacey,
You know me - I have already started my X-mas shopping! We were talking about this at work the other day - X-mas will be here before we know it! I can't believe that it is not even fall yet and Hobby Lobby has already started getting X-mas out! Every year I hope to be more oraganized than previous years! Maybe this will be the year! Is it to early to start wrapping?!
