Remember when we took some of the vines off of our pergola a couple of weeks ago? That let in lots of wonderful sunshine and air - which is needed to prevent fungus on the grass. There was fescue grass planted in that area that was never happy. This week we had zoysia planted under the pergola and off the patio area. It looks so much better to look out at green grass instead of a sparse muddy mess!
I purchased and put in pansies. I also added more nandinas, hostas, and heucheras. They are mostly pretty small plants now but with a little time it will blend seamlessly with the rest of the yard.
Oh, I still needs spring bulbs and some pumpkins too. :) I love to put pumpkins in the flower beds and pretend like they grew there. Do you? Happy Gardening.

It is just beautiful. This weather has been nice for working outside---when it isn't raining. We had more rain last night and today. I think we will have a dry day or two so I hope to get some more shed work done. Enjoy that beautiful backyard.
Your yard is looking wonderful. I just love your weathered picket fence, so cottage-like.
We have tons of clean up still to do before we can work on landscape. Hubby hired a neighbor boy to tear down a bunch of old chicken coops and help clear stuff out. They've made 7 trailer loads to the dump this summer...and it's only the beginning.
That's why I love popping over here to "sit" by your pond for a while!
Hugs,
Dawn
Hey good idea about the pumpkins. Your place is looking good.

Everything look so nice, Stacey! I know you're enjoying having sunshine in your back yard! Love your water area! It's so nice! You must have a big backyard!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia :)

I have a feeling your yard is just as pretty in winter as it is in summer. It's beautiful*! I like the idea of putting pumpkins in the garden...too cool*!
You have such a beautiful backyard! Jackie
And I just l-o-v-e that pond of yours, Stacey. I love when you show that. I just drool. As for the pumpkins, no, I hadn't had the foresight to think of that. But you thought of it for me!
Brenda

~Wow! I still can't get over how beautiful your yard is Stacey! The pond is just incredible. ~Lovely work you just did as well.
I can't believe that 13 pounds are gone already either! My doctor seemed to think I had alot of water retention going on so the blood pressure/water medication she prescribed is definitly helping to take it off rather quickly. I know it's about to slow down soon though. Bummer...
We are eating sooo heathy too! Lot's of salad and GF grilled food.
It's delicious! Not bad at all.
You could do it too my friend!
You've inspired me to walk more! Thank you! :)
Stacey...Every time I see your beautiful yard...I wish I lived in Oklahoma!!! It is just gorgeous!!! I love all of the improvements you have made. I am hoping to get some pansies planted this weekend...and have already put a few pumpkins out...we are doing the rest this week.
Your pond is perfection!!! It just sets off the whole property...love it!!!
Have you been cheering for the Cowboys? We are doing our best here in Texas but I don't think they can hear us from here;)!!! We will never give up...no matter what!!!
I hope you are having a wonderful week...so far!!!

Stacey,
You have been hard at work...I love your new flower border and it will definitely fill in quickly..wow you already have pansies...I haven't gotten mine yet..this weekend I have to get busy doing some fall decorating and planting! Hope you are having a great week! Your yard looks awesome! Sonia/Miss Bloomers
Looks like you're getting all your yard work done...and beautifully at that! I love pansies. I think they're my favorite.
My SIL lived in Tulsa for years and she never had the type of yard you do! No trees, just blah. Your pond is just gorgeous and you've done so much work to the entire yard! such work and time go into making a yard look good. Come spring it will be a beaut!
Glad I could give you a glimpse of my red kitchen today. I bought some fabric today to line the inside of the hutch. Hope to get it done soon, so I can post. I'm finally on a roll. ha ha the colors go so well with the wallpaper you love and if I get a little more ambitious, I'm thinking about valances for the windows. We'll see...
Have a good rest of the week! :-) Sue
What a fabulous yard! Looks like a little secret garden :0)
The pond is gorgeous!
Your yard looks beautiful, I need to get out and clean up my beds for fall. I always forget to plant bulbs and then I am sad in springtime. Maybe this year I'll get it done. My perennials are overflowing too....so much to do, so little time!
It looks beautiful... I love your pansies. We are planting 6 flats next week. I can't wait.
It all looks great, Stacey. Really pretty!
Barb :-)
Could you please not interrupt me. I am sitting here quietly dreaming that I am sitting in your back yard soaking it all in. With my hot cup of coffee and my adirondack chair...I am taking in all the beauty before me. You and your family certainly know how to produce natural beauty in the back yard. So lovely!
Every time I see your lovely backyard I just drool! LOL. Really, it is so manicured, tended, and super beautiful. I really like the idea of putting pumpkins around to make it look like you planted them there. I'm off to get some to do just that today. Thanks for the decorating tip. Enjoy your time in your backyard! Amy :)
Work on your backyard??? WOW! It looks immaculate and perfect now. Any chance you would like to visit me in SC and (oh by the way) bring your gardening gloves.
I can tell in the picture but does your pond have a waterfall too? It looks great!
Hugs,
Gretchen
Holy Cannoli Stacey! That is your backyard????? Who needs a house? I'd just live out there in a tent! How ya been girlie? Glad to hear from you as always. I'm back to regular blogging again now that the kiddies are back in school. I figured out that's what kept me away. Them.
TTYS! Kim
Stacey...the bathroom makeover was our MAIN bathroom upstairs. It was a huge job. The walls were uneven, the floor was uneven, it had to be braced to support the big tub (it's upstairs and with water it's HEAVY!), etc. Our home was built in 1970 and it had NO ammenities I can assure you! Anyway, we are almost ready to start another bath redo. This one is the master bath but it is TINY! Nothing like houses built today. Still...it will be lovely for us...it's just the two of us now and we never want to move. I DO use the big bath though...nothing like a whirlpool tub!
Thanks for visiting my sweet neighbor friend. You yard and gardens are lovely. I wish mine were. Too much interior work has resulted in a NEGLECTED garden this year! :(
xoRebecca
What a beautiful yard Stacey! I would feel like I was on vacation visiting your yard and the pond is just beautiful!
Have a great weekend,
Karen
Stacey, I can tell you spend alot of time in this yard...it sure shows! It's beautiful! Nancy
You have a beautiful yard. Love your pond!! I have a place under my big oak trees where I cannot grow grass either. I had a big flat deck built over most of it but it's still sparse around the deck. I enjoyed looking at your blog. First time here. I am a follower now. Have a blessed day.
Your yard is looking so good! It's finally suppose to be cooler this week so out I'll go to work in the yard. So many weeds have sprung up with all the rain we've had!
Manuela
How pretty, Stacey ... I love your fence and new "curvy" flower bed. I hope you will share some pictures of your "pumpkin patch" when you finish it. That's a neat idea.
