Playing House

I started to call this

"Playing House at Christmas When It Is Really Still November".

Yes, I've already had moments of panic
looking at all the beautiful blogs.

Then the calendar keeps me in check. It's ok we still have lots of time girls. :)

I've been doing the switcheroo here at home.
Every day dishes are put away and Christmas dishes are out.

Where other foo-foo might have been there are ornaments and candy canes.

Pandora is streaming Christmas songs continuously and my husband is going along with it.
He's a good man.

Son #2 has a vocal recital today. :)

My sister-in-law is coming tomorrow and we are holiday house touring. :)

You know, when company is coming I always stress out about whether or not I've already washed the sheets on the guest bed. Pretty sure they get washed twice most the time.

Do you have a method for that?

It's going to be a great day!

What are you up to?

I spent the last two days moving...lol. I am not stressing about decking the halls....I will probably be spending this time of year painting the walls. :-)

Love your touches of Christmas.
Hugs,
Penny

You and I are on the same wave length. I also have started getting in a panic about decorating for Christmas and then reminded myself it.is.still.November! Some bloggers amaze me with how much they've gotten done already. I am trying to hurry up and get it done soon though so I have that much longer to enjoy it!

It's looking pretty, Stacey! Have a great time with your sister on the tour! I love to do that too. I'm still washing sheets and towels from my Thanksgiving coming as they just left yesterday.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Taking photos of my Christmas guest room and putting a post together. And yes, I always wonder about fresh sheets. In the end, nobody but me cares anyway. I always love the decorating but hate the putting away. This year our big tree is going naked - only lights and it's so liberating to just not really care. :)

You're right. There is plenty of time left. I got an early start on mine this year, but realize it's not even December yet! Crazy huh? We should just slow down and savor it more probably. I've still got major gift shopping to do and wrapping...and baking....and visiting family...See? Plenty of time. LOL!

I really needed to read the first part of your post, especially since some of my fresh greenery can't be put out so early or it will be a fire hazard by Christmas!

By the way, I love your little tiered thingie with your ornaments and candy on it. So cute! I love little pieces like yours.

Ah, Stacey, just take your time! You'll enjoy the process more. I'm trying to pace myself this year. Love the holiday touches that you've added so far. Please be sure to get lots of photos from the tour!

At least you have started, Stacey. I can't seem to get it together...yet.:)

Oh I had totally forgotten about Pandora. I'm so glad that you reminded me. I like to think of this extra week between Thanksgiving and December as a way to get a bit of a headstart so that it won't be so chaotic later on. That way, we may have time to read a book, enjoy the Christmas shows, celebrate the Reason.

I smiled through this post because I could relate to it. I have a husband who is a good sport with all the decorating too.

What an honor for your son to be in a vocal recital. You must be so proud of him.

Hi Stacey! I know what you mean about getting a little panicked looking at all the beautiful blogs. And we had Thanksgiving at our house through the weekend, so no Christmas decorating happened. I'm hoping to get the bulk of it done this weekend. Your red transfer ware plate is beautiful, and I love the rest of the touches too. Enjoy the house tour and bring us back some inspiration photos. Have a great day!

Yes, I stress over whether the sheets are washed and a myriad of other things! :)
